Ball Watch Co. - Engineer M Pioneer II

The Engineer M Pioneer II features vibrant, self-illuminating color indications that don’t require external charging. It’s built to endure extreme activities while also being a stylish wardrobe addition.

In exploration, one thing is certain: the underdog is not to be overlooked. Encased in ultra-hard 904L stainless steel, our new range of Pioneer models is built to challenge all adversaries and terrains. The Engineer M Pioneer II runs on our Chronometer Manufacture Caliber RRM7309-C, while the chronometric precision of the Engineer III Pioneer withstands magnetic fields to 1,000 Gauss. By day, the sleek design and maximum legibility are in full view. At night, our micro gas tubes pierce the night with an unrivaled glow.

Running on our Chronometer Manufacture Caliber RRM 7309-C, the Engineer M Pioneer II carries the legacy of our founder Webb C. Ball with a remarkable accuracy range of -2/+4 seconds per day. These standards exceed modern COSC testing criteria, ensuring precise timekeeping for your every move. Built in our lab, the movement and its precision push the limits of mechanical performance with an 80-hour power reserve that still maintains a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz).

Our micro gas tube glow is unlike any other form of luminescence used in watchmaking. Requiring absolutely no charging ever, the technology consists of miniature tubes first coated with phosphor powder and then filled with tritium gas. When the tritium emits electrons, the coating gives off a cold light and shines bright – revealing the time in all dark conditions. Driven by engineering and creativity, the luminosity is available in a classic colorway and a multi-colored rainbow motif. For the first time, the metal indexes on the rainbow gas tube executions are also coated in matching colors, the BALL signature Arabic numerals dial design is a bright display of colors, day or night.
