Keystone Resort - Keystone, Colorado
Keystone Resort is where the young and young at heart can discover the magic of exploring the mountains! One of the closest ski resorts to Denver, Keystone is a winter wonderland with more than 3,000 acres of skiable terrain across three peaks and five bowls. The resort offers something for everyone in the whole family including activities like night skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, sleigh rides and more. With the Kids Ski Free program, kids 12 and younger can ski and ride for free every day, all season long with just two or more nights of lodging booked through the resort.
Keystone Resort is home to three distinct mountain peaks – Dercum Mountain, North Peak, and The Outback, with a front-to-back progression and layout.
Dercum: For beginners, intermediates or those warming up their legs, Dercum is the first peak you see and access at Keystone. Home to dedicated learning areas at the top of the River Run Gondola and Keystone’s longest trail, Schoolmarm.
North Peak: North Peak offers intermediate and advanced terrain with never-ending groomers, long rides and bump runs that are sure to get your legs burning.
The Outback: Keystone’s tallest and furthest peak, this mountain is for those looking for more natural and rugged terrain – adventure awaits in the Outback with tight tree runs, rocky drop-offs and more!
& Beyond: For our experienced guests looking to earn their turns, take your play to new heights across the furthest reaches of our mountain playground in more than 1,000 acres of above treeline terrain with Independence, Bergman, Erickson, North and South Bowls.
There are Mountains of Fun to be had this winter! From holiday festivities to on-mountain scavenger hunts, there’s always something exciting at our mountain playground. High atop Dercum Mountain, a wonderous place known as Adventure Point offers up to eight lanes of high-speed snow tubing action. In the valley below, go dashing through the snow aboard one of our scenic horse-drawn sleighs to an original Keystone homestead where hot cider awaits. Take a spin or practice your best triple axel while ice skating across the scenic 5-acre Keystone Lake. And, find a haven for outdoor recreation at the Keystone Nordic Center with 10 miles of groomed trails for cross-country skiing, skate skiing and snowshoeing. Plus, the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down! Night ski operations take place on weekends and holidays, starting Thanksgiving weekend and running through late March.
This year, the Timber Ridge Lodge on North Peak, Keystone’s largest on-mountain restaurant, is now even bigger with additional indoor and outdoor seating! The Timber Ridge Lodge boasts unbeatable views, and now guests will have more room to relax and refuel while taking in the sights before hitting another run off of North Peak.
Last but not least…Drrrum roll please! Back by popular demand, Keystone is bringing back the magic of the World’s Largest Mountaintop Snow Fort on top of Dercum. When you’re headed back down the mountain, the kids can check out a second Snow Fort at the Mountain House Base Area while the parents head into the Last Lift Bar for a little après. No matter what kind of adventure is in store, Keystone is sure to have you feeling like a kid in a winter wonderland.
