Lady Primrose - Fragrance Forward, Regal Style

A legacy that spans decades, Lady Primrose fragrance company was founded in 1990 by scents that date back centuries. Commissioned by the famed Lanesborough Hotel in London to create luxurious fragrant amenities for their discerning guests, the hotel amenity program contributed to the launch of Lady Primrose and the founding fragrances, Tryst and Royal Extract. Inspired by and created in part from archival scent recipes from vaults of London and Parisian perfume houses dating back to 1677, Tryst and Royal Extract lead the portfolio to this day. The beloved Royal Extract fragrance remained a part of the Lanesborough amenity offerings for 25 years gracing guest suites and rooms with scent infused soaps, lotions, bath gels, dusting powders and more.



Lady Primrose has since curated lifestyle collections with scent offerings not only in Tryst and Royal Extract, but also in Momentous, Necture, Celadon, Blue Agave, and a most recent launch of Gentlemen 1677 which expands the portfolio into the men’s category for the first time. All distinct and subtle with unique profiles, scents are inspired by a variety of florals, spices, fragrant gardens, citrus, mint, woody bases, fruits, teas, honey, and herbs completing an elevated fragrance wardrobe.


The first discovery of perfumes was embraced circa 3000 BC by the Egyptians blending cinnamon with cassia bark. The first ever modern perfume was produced in the 1300s blending orange blossom and thyme commissioned by Queen Elizabeth of Hungary. In this century, fragrance-loving consumers fuel a multi-billion-dollar perfume industry. Lady Primrose works to capture this consumer online, through fine retailer partnerships and top tier hotel and resorts around the world. Fragrance Forward | Regal Style. Lady Primrose fragrance collections expand beyond eau de parfum and include body creams, dusting silk powders, cream soaps, lotions, bath gels, candles, and boutique laundry. Elegant presentation is a hallmark of Lady Primrose. Body creams are offered in Victorian-era inspired body cream jars unique to Lady Primrose featuring ornate silver or gold lids. Dusting Silk Powders are presented in refined glass shakers inspired by the elegance of vintage England sugar shakers.



Tryst fragrance sparkles blending notes of white tea, white lily, and chamomile fused with green florals, jasmine, and fleur d ’orangery. Radiant and sophisticated.


Royal Extract fragrance embodies a note melody of creamy milk, sweet golden honey and apple blossoms resting on a bed of precious woods. Regal, warm and rich.


Momentous fragrance embraces tranquil notes blending patchouli noir, powdery tonka, white musk and spiced sandalwood. Appreciated by all, this neutral scent is relaxing and serene.


Necture fragrance fuses sweet-scented blended notes of apple blossoms, mint, jasmine, and precious woods. Cheerful and delicate.

Michelle Balaz is the Owner CEO of Lady Primrose along with her sister, Stephanie Balaz. When discovering that the company had decided to take a pause in 2020, instincts kicked in. With a desire to take on a relaunch of one of the most iconic brands in the fragrance industry, they both dived right in. Buying the company in November of 2020, Michelle’s advertising, marketing, brand, and management experience coupled with her sister’s hotel, business, and entrepreneurial expertise has steered the company through a successful relaunch. The Lady Primrose team have heralded the brand for years managing the daily operations in Dallas and are a valued part of the brands momentum.


With home base in Chicago and her sister based in Miami, traveling is a passion for them both as Dallas is becoming a second home.
