The Best of the Big Island at Hualālai Resort
Offering sweeping ocean and mountain views and over one-half mile of white sandy beach, Hualālai Resort is an idyllic resort community situated along the stunning North Kona-Kohala Coast on the island of Hawai’i.
Spanning 865 acres, the community is home to a mix of single-family homes, villas, and town homes that reflect the architecture and essence of authentic Hawaiian living. Adopting the time-honored architecture of the Hawaiian kauhale (ancient coastal village), Hualālai’s resort communities are divided into intimate neighborhoods developed to provide low-density, low-rise communities. With an unmatched location, attentive service and incomparable amenities, Hualālai Resort saw impressive demand throughout 2021 from discerning buyers, garnering over $284 million in residential sales by early Q4 2021.
Embracing experiences that are inspired by its destination, Hualālai Resort offers its homeowners access to bespoke amenities and activities that resonate with both the young and young at heart. Featured amenities include an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course and clubhouse, a private Tom Weiskopf-designed 18-hole course for Hualālai Club Members and their guests, the award-winning Hualālai Sports Club & Hualālai Spa and the AAA Five Diamond, Forbes Five Star Four Seasons Resort Hualālai.
Golfers, whether at the novice or expert level, can tee off at Hualālai Golf Club, a championship 18-hole signature layout designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus. The course is the first to be designated an official PGA Tour resort, playing host to the annual PGA Mitsubishi Electric Championship. Late last year, the Hualālai Golf Course completed a transformation with the reshaping of greens and bunkers and a conversion to Platinum Paspalum turf. Additionally, the recently debuted Hualālai Golf Hale – a 3,000 square-foot instruction and practice facility – offers exclusive programming to improve the golf game with state-of-the-art technology and expert instruction, doubling as an entertainment venue - perfect for family and group events. For more of a private experience, homeowners can head to the Ke’olu Golf Course, an 18-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed layout only available for members. It is the first and only facility of its kind in Hawaii.
After a day out on the course, residents and members can visit the Hualālai Sports Club & Hualālai Spa, which offers a variety of health and wellness programs to create mauli ola, the power of healing. For the ultimate rest and relaxation, homeowners can visit the Waiea (Water of Life) Garden, which features a pre-treatment spa ritual, allowing guests to experience reflexology while strolling through the grounds.
Another integral part of the Hualālai experience is the Ka‘ūpūlehu Cultural Center, a home base for guests and members to learn about Hawaiian values, practices and island heritage through authentic, hands-on exhibits and programs guided by cultural specialists. Located adjacent to the Hualālai Club Shop, each activity at the Cultural Center is offered at a complimentary basis.
Providing a world-class destination dining experience, Hualālai Resort offers a thoughtful selection of top-notch culinary concepts. Exclusively for Hualālai Resort members, the oceanfront Residents’ Beach House serves lunch and sunset menus complete with specialty cocktails. For a more casual meal, the Hualālai Canoe Club, serves healthy dishes and the Ke‘olu Clubhouse, available for lunch and dinner, offers locally-inspired cuisine with dishes ranging from fresh island fish and homemade soups, to specialty sandwiches, salads and more. Aside from the member-only amenities available, homeowners also have access to Four Seasons Resort Hualālai and the resort’s restaurants, pools, spa, and more. Recently, Four Seasons Resort Hualālai debuted a $100+ million property-wide transformation, marking the resort’s largest renovation since its debut, contemporizing its aesthetic while holding onto the essence of Hualālai’s authentic Hawaiian architecture and design.
This includes the enhancement of all 249 guest rooms and suites; a new, elevated infinity pool and lounge deck at King’s Pond, Hualālai’s 1.8-million-gallon swimmable aquarium; the introduction of the Kumu Kai Marine Center, home to six on-staff Marine Biologists who lead a curriculum of marine life experiences; a new gourmet poolside menu from Executive Chef Richard Polhemus; a transformation of the Hualālai Golf Course and the launch of the Hualālai Golf Hale, a 3,000 square-foot instruction, practice and entertainment facility. The renovation unveiled three redesigned & expanded villas: Hawaii Loa Presidential Villa, Makaloa Villa and Ho`onanea Villa – the largest and most luxurious villa product in all of Hawaii. The villas were elevated in response to guests’ increased demand for home-away-from-home accommodations, ideal for multigenerational travelers seeking space and privacy, and truly usher in a whole new level of luxury and comfort.
