The Boulder Resort & Spa Scottsdale - An Exclusive Desert Hideaway
Few resorts in the world can match the extraordinary natural setting of the Boulders Resort located within the high Sonoran Desert of Carefree Arizona, the lushest desert on the planet and framed by spectacular mountains. The Boulders combines inspiring golf, an exceptional spa, luxurious accommodations and natural beauty to produce an exclusive desert hideaway.
Renowned for the 12-million-year-old boulder formations that dot the landscape and dramatic architecture, luxurious Casitas and 1-3 bedroom Villas are shaped into the natural terrain and offer wood-burning fireplaces and private patios that afford stunning desert or golf course views. Everything blends so seamlessly with the surrounding desert landscape that--like a mirage--the resort seems to have emerged from the Sonoran Desert, an offspring of the ancient boulders!
Carefully placed within the midst of this desert hideaway are two Jay Morrish-designed championship golf courses with 36 holes of challenging golf. They considered some of the most demanding in the Southwest and are known for their rugged beauty and breathtaking panoramas where giant saguaro cacti stand like guardians and indigenous plants in vibrant color add to the eye-popping setting. The Boulders golf courses have proudly received dozens of awards including Golf Magazine’s outstanding Platinum Medal honoring golf’s finest properties and Golf Digest’s “Best Golf Resort in the Southwest.”
The two signature holes are No. 5 on the South Course, where the green is carved from a dramatic rock outcropping making it one of the most photographed holes in the country. No. 7 on the South Course is a par-3 and Rosie’s Rock, a gigantic boulder that sits precariously atop a tiny one, is just an arm’s length from golfers on the tee.
The North Course is par 72 with five sets of tees measuring in distance and slope 6811 yards/137 slope, 6293 yards/131 slope, 5879 yards/124 slope for men and 132 for ladies 5440 yards /126 slope and 4900 yards with a slope of 115 playing from the red tees.
The South Course is par 72 with five sets of tees measuring in distance and slope 6726 yards/140 slope, 6246 yards/134 slope, 5642 yards/119 slope for men. 139 for ladies, 5119 yards /125 slope and 4684 yards with a slope of 117 playing from the red tees.
The Boulders Golf Academy offers private, one-on-one instruction with talented PGA and LPGA instructors to cover the full swing, chipping, pitching, putting and sand play using digital video analysis and on-course playing lessons.
While the Boulders Resort is renowned as a world-class golf resort, this extraordinary desert hideaway is situated on 1,300 acres with a host of outdoor adventure activities. At the Boulders Tennis Garden’s, guests can play tennis or pickleball on the three classic clay courts and five premier cushion courts—not to mention enjoy even more exquisite views. The pro shop has the latest in fashion and equipment, stringing services, racquet and ball rental.
