Whistler - Canada's Shining Jewel

As one of the world’s leading ski resorts, Whistler is something of a shining jewel in Canada’s winter crown. Much more than just world-class skiing and snowboarding, the village offers an abundance of activities, elegant accommodation options and world-class spas and nightlife; all vital components of the perfect luxury trip.

Arrive in Style…

Whistler is located two hours north of Vancouver by road or 30 minutes by air. Choose from luxurious travel options including SUV, heli jet, or limousine, and take in views of Vancouver, Howe Sound and the Coast Mountain Ranges along the way.

Sleep Soundly…

Check into one of the many award-winning hotels, luxury chalets or rent an entire home. Many accommodation options come complete with ski-in-ski-out access as well as spas, ski valets and concierge services.

For exquisite luxury, the Fairmont Chateau is a grand choice. Following on from a 5-year renovation that saw the creation of eleven Alpine Suites, a Portobello Deli redesign, and 150 bathroom facelifts, the final quarter of 2018 has seen another $4.3 million investment into the renovation of all 44 Fairmont Gold Suites. The Four Seasons Resort also fairs highly when it comes to living it up and offers globally celebrated hospitality.

After a day on the slopes, there’s no greater way to soothe those aching muscles than by enjoying a massage, treatment or jacuzzi at one of the many spas in Whistler.

Try Heli-Skiing

With no lift lines or resort boundaries, heli-skiing is the most exclusive way to enjoy Whistler’s untouched powder fields this season. Jump on board, fire up the rotors and fly to a snowboard or ski experience like no other.

Active Après-Ski

Life in the mountains is sure to inspire everyone to try something new. For those seeking exciting alternatives to boozy après-ski, plenty of activities and adventures await. Quintessentially Canadian, axe throwing at Forged is one of the best ways to round off a day on the slopes. Hurling axes (or hatchets) at a target with the hope of sinking a bullseye is one of the leading group activities in this part of the world. Group bookings are a specialty at Forged, and the team will show you the ropes and even keep track of the score. Of course, there’s plenty of Whistler nightlife to enjoy afterwards if you do fancy celebrating those bullseyes with a cocktail.

A bobsleigh or skeleton experience at the Whistler Sliding Centre is another essential activity for thrill seekers running through until mid-March 2019. Enjoy the speed and exhilaration of sliding at one of the host venues for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Under the watchful eye of experienced sliders, expect to reach speeds of 80-120 km/hr.

World Class Snow Sports

It goes without saying that you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to skiing and snowboarding in Whistler. There’s a run to suit all abilities, and family skiing is a specialty. A private ski instructor is a great way to brush up those skills and also gain priority access to the ski lifts. You’ll benefit from local insight to the very best ski areas. Away from the slopes, try your hand at snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice skating.

Food, Wine & Hospitality

The Whistler culinary scene is alive and well, and you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to fine dining establishments. Experienced chefs have access to a bounty of fresh local produce meaning you’ll enjoy a true taste of the province.

New for 2018/19, the Blue Room takes fine dining to a whole new level – in an ice cave! You’ll enjoy a guided tour of the cave upon arrival, before sitting down to a gastronomic feast.

Bearfoot Bistro also comes highly recommended and has to be one of the best dining options in Whistler. The restaurant has been established in Whistler for many years and is a favourite among the locals. Sit back and relax while the executive chef creates a five-course tasting menu, providing individual attention to you and our guests. A visit to Whistler wouldn’t be complete without dining at the Araxi Restaurant & Bar too – a venue with an international reputation for sumptuous food, wine and hospitality.

Why not add a little altitude to your dining? The Crystal Hut is the ideal place to wind down while dining on delicious fondue and international wine selection. For a true backcountry feel, travel by snowmobile.

Take a Wilderness Excursion

Take a helicopter and journey into British Columbia’s ancient wilderness, creating your own adventure itinerary. Whether you opt to trek across a glacier, snowmobile over an ice cap or uncover the icy labyrinths of a secret cave, a Whistler excursion is like no other.

Whistler’s winter season runs until May 2019. For more information see www.whistler.com.
